SmartWasher Maintenance

The SmartWasher requires a minimum amount of maintenance if used properly.  Remember, the Smartwasher is not designed to function as a waste dump.  If excessive oil or simular fluid is dumped into the system, the Ozzy microbes may be destroyed.

This is not necessary unless you have a prefilter screen.  If you are using a prefilter screen it should be checked and cleaned daily.

Monthly Maintenance:
The OzzyMat will need to be replaced monthly. This will insure that your Ozzy colony remains healthy and strong.  It is also recommended at this time to do a general sludge clean-up.  Clean up the sink by wiping off any excess oil and grease.

Annual Maintenance:
We recommend that the SmartWasher should be inspected and cleaned annually.  To do this, remove the sink from the base and inspect the surface of the cleaning fluid. Skim to remove any biomass or debris.  Pump the system fluid into acceptable storage containers and rinse the inside of the machine with water.  Rinse the pump thoroughly clean with water.  Visually check the condition of the hoses, connectors, etc. If everything appears to be in good working condition, reassemble the SmartWasher, replace the OzzyMat with a new one and pour the original fluid back into the unit.
